PROPRIEDADES
O BHT é um pó cristalino branco ou com pouca coloração e com um leve odor. Praticamente insolúvel em
água e propilenoglicol; solúvel em 1:4 de álcool , 1:1.1 de clorofórmio e 1:1.1 de éter.
Possui propriedade antioxidante e também é usado por possuir atividade antimicrobiana. Para melhorar sua
eficiência o BHT é frequentemente usado em combinação com outros antioxidantes como o BHA e com
sequestrantes.

O BHT pode ser irritante aos olhos, pele e mucosas.
INDICAÇÃO
O BHT é usado na fase oleosa como agente antioxidante no processo de fabricação de cremes e loções.
DOSAGEM
É usado para retardar ou prevenir o processo oxidativo de gorduras e óleos em concentrações iguais ou
maiores que 0.02%.
ARMAZENAMENTO
Acondicionar em recipientes herméticos, ao abrigo do calor e da luz solar direta.
